Sunrise ocean bed hot springs is located on the southeast end of the green island loop and is known as Sunrise for its spectacular and breathtaking sunrises from the east. The source of the hot spring is located on the tidal flats of the southeast coast and is surrounded by a magnificent coral reef, which also nurtures fish, crabs and other organisms found living on the tidal flats.
Seawater is permeated to the deep end of the stratum through rock crevices, heated geothermally by the earth to produce natural hot water, this then gushes from the earths surface under immense pressure. The tepid seawater that gushes from the rock crevices and sand stratum is known as the famous Asahi ocean bed hot springs. Asahi is a sulfur mineral spring, but its sulfur content is minimal and it is also mildly acidic. The water is clear and the temperature is situated between 53°Cand 93°C. This process mixed together with a high salt content from the seawater is found to have therapeutic effects.
On the north end of the island can be found a "secret spring" , popular with the locals with fewer crowds, this affords a little more privacy. Moreover you will find that each of the round outdoor pools have varying water temperatures. Due to the natural positioning of each of the pools on the tidal flat, the pools with lower water temperatures are systematically flooded by the tide everyday. In the ebb of the tide the temperature of the first pool is higher due to the loss of seawater. This natural process allows you to experience hot springs with differing temperatures depending on what time of the day it is. The conclusion is that this is truly an authentic SPA created by nature itself. At present the hot springs area has a number a facilities available including a sight seeing trail, restrooms, fresh water rinsing amenities and night time illumination, this has all been designed to make your visit hassle free and more enjoyable.
