Chiayi Wine Cultural and Historical Museum

The Wine Cultural and Historical Museum is part of the Chiayi Distillery. It was originally part of the Tainan branch office of the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation, but was later changed to the Chiayi branch office. In August of 1997, it was designated as a sightseeing winery. After relocating to the new factory in Minxiong, it was open to the public in September 1997. In November the following year, a wine museum was established, covering an area of about 3310 m2. The museum displays products and wine vessels produced over the years. There is also a wine tasting area on site for free wine tasting. Visitors can visit the second-floor wine museum to see the wine country culture and historical exhibitions. The collection here is very rich and abundant, and it can be said to be the winery that has the most wine relics of the early wine industry. On the ground floor, you can do some wine tasting, and also taste some alcohol-related by-products such as wine popsicles, wine eggs, etc. Furthermore, the winery can tailor make special occasion commemorative wines for customers, that is, to produce wines with distinct customer-designated picture labels.
